15K: 8:30 AM Start
4 Mile: 8:45 AM Start
The 16th running of Carbon County's revival classic! Two races distances: 15K and 4 Miles. Starting and ending in the outdoor sports paradise that is Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. Free Race Street Run shirts for first 150 entrants. Course traverses asphalt, natural trail, potentially crushed stone. Both races will be timed by Titan Event Company.
The Race Street run is a revival of a dual-event road race once put on by the Switchback Roadrunners club. The run was last done by the club in the mid-1990's. St. Mark's Church took over the race in 2006 to serve as a fund raising event for the church. St. Mark's and St. John's Episcopal Church is a combined parish in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. The building, located at 21 Race Street in Jim Thorpe, is registered on the National Register of Historic Places. For more information on the church and parish, please visit St. Mark's Home Page. Proceeds from this year's race will benefit the church's Capital Fund Campaign.

Parking is at your own risk. Many if not all of the metered spaces around the downtown district have moved to a kiosk system for parking. This also includes the Carbon County Courthouse lot located behind the train station. While the race begins before parking enforcement begins checking for tickets, the races generally finish up late enough that it is within the times it is expected to have paid to park.
The courses for each race are an out and back set up, starting at the Carbon County Courthouse, and finishing in front of historic St. Mark’s & St. John’s Episcopal Church on Race Street. The start and finish lines are approximately one block apart. The courses travel through the Historic District of Jim Thorpe, continues up West Broadway nearly a mile to an access road that connects you to the Switchback Trail. Each course will remain on the trail until their respective turn around points. The 15K will cross Lentz Trail just past the two mile mark. Although we do close Broadway briefly for the start of each race, and close Race Street for the finish area, the roads are otherwise open to traffic. We do employ volunteers, Fire Police, and Police staff to assist with traffic management at strategic points in the course to help with runner safety. For this reason, we strongly discourage the use of headphones or earbuds of any kind while participating in our events. Due to the nature of the trail of both courses, we also do not recommend the use of strollers.
Post race we offer refreshments, awards, and generally have a random drawing.
